Locky Macgic k-Dennis from Milan Dhiiyaan dancing at Goolwa

Locky was taught this song by his old uncles when he was growing up in Walgett, where the Namoi meets the Barwon River in north-west NSW.

The song tells how the spirits of the people are reflected in the water and in the trees and rocks and animals. The message of the song is that the people are part of the environment, not separated from it.

Locky and his wife Fleur started Milan Dhiiyaan as a way of practicing their language and culture and to teach their children and extended families the stories and songs and dances that have been passed down to them from their relatives.
